As part of PAT’s mission to help find solutions to vexing energy issues, the organization is developing a business model to address increasing home energy costs among the State’s disenfranchised population. One thing is certain: Federal dollars for energy assistance to low-income households has been cut in half over the last 5 years. The State’s fund that provides low-income discounts for electric bills is being decommissioned. PAT is working to develop the Energy Impact Platform, a financially sustainable alternative to federal and state welfare funding for energy affordability.
