Power Across Texas teamed with The University of Texas Energy Institute to create an interactive, online decision-making and teaching tool that will help non-expert decision makers and the public better understand our energy challenges and choices. The Texas Interactive Power Simulator, or TIPS, will demonstrate the comparative costs, benefits and tradeoffs among the many different fuel supplies in Texas that power our electricity and transportation networks. TIPS is the easy-to-use and easy-to-access economic model that will demonstrate clearly, comprehensively and comparatively the tradeoffs inherent in different portfolio models of fuel mixes. Try TIPS for yourself here. |

Power Across Texas is asking scholars and industry leaders what they think about controversial and important topics affecting Texas’ energy future. We post their answers in a short web video series we’re calling Power Minute. In our debut Power Minute, we asked the question “Do you think there should be carbon legislation in the United States? Why or why not?” and we listened to both sides of the issue. Watch the videos here. |
